Since 2006, Chevrolet’s youth sports programs have been encouraging young people and helping communities. The Chevy Youth Baseball program started in 2006 and the Youth Soccer program followed in 2010.
This year, both programs will get a boost from world-class athletes. Supporting the baseball program will be MLB All-Star and Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen. The soccer program will get the benefit of gold medalist and soccer champion Alex Morgan.
“At Chevrolet, we celebrate the power of play and the positive effect it has on kids, families, and communities,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Partnering with Andrew McCutchen and Alex Morgan allows us to share their expertise and passion for their individual sports and demonstrate to children everywhere that with perseverance and dedication anything is possible.”
In the baseball program, participating leagues can receive equipment and sponsorship grants from Chevrolet to help their programs grow and succeed. Chevrolet has donated more than 135,000 equipment kits and supported more than 6.7 million young children all over the United States in the past 11 years.
For the soccer program, Chevrolet also donates equipment as well as providing access to instructional clinics. Since 2010, Chevy has donated more than 6,200 equipment kits.
Here at Wiesner of Huntsville, we love seeing Chevrolet reach out to our youth to help them succeed.
