Huntsville State Park is a perfect place to spend your weekends this December, with activities and events your whole family will love. Whether you and your kids love camping or you just want to learn about local wildlife, there are things to do at Huntsville State Park for everyone.
Here in Huntsville, we have great weather for outdoor activities year-round, so if you feel like taking a kayak out on the lake, fishing, swimming, or staying overnight, go for it! Pack up your Chevy SUV or GMC truck with all your hiking and fishing equipment and hit the road.
The park also offers pavilions and shelters for parties, a supply store, and more features that let you create your perfect weekend getaway, but the park organizes plenty of great events too. Friday December 1, for instance, check out the Ask a Ranger Broadcast at 10am, which takes place inside the park.
That Friday will also feature the Build-A-Gator Family Workshop at noon. At this hands-on event, Ranger Pick will choose a volunteer from the audience to transform into an alligator! Kids will learn all about gators, including myths about them and where they come from.
The next day, join Ranger Pick bright and early at 8am for trail maintenance, a perfect way to volunteer and give back to your community.
If you need a new or used vehicle to help make all of your outdoor activities a success, contact us at Wiesner of Huntsville.

Buick has teamed up with ExxonMobil to introduce a quicker and easier way to pay for fuel. If your Buick is equipped with a Buick Infotainment System, you can stop at an ExxonMobil for gas and pay through the touchscreen, all without ever taking out your credit card.
This partnership also lets Buick drivers build points every time they get gas at an ExxonMobil by syncing with the driver’s ExxonMobil Speedpass+™ account, helping to save money on fuel. This is great year-round, but especially during the colder months when cars use more gas as well as holiday road trips.
The great thing is that this payment system is part of the Marketplace app, the auto industry’s first in-vehicle app for commerce, and it’s added to the app when your infotainment system does an automatic update. So you don’t have to own a brand-new Buick to get access to this convenient feature.
If you don’t have an ExxonMobil Speedpass+™ account, you can easily enroll for one free through the Marketplace app, too. Buick is dedicated to making this wallet-friendly option quickly and easily available to all its users. Then you can select the pump you want to use and the kind of gas right from your touchscreen, so all you have to do outside the car is pump the gas.
If the idea of not having to take out your credit card to fuel up sounds great, contact us at Wiesner of Huntsville to find a properly-equipped vehicle.
Since it first premiered in 1998, the Cadillac Escalade has taken the industry by storm. Providing an unprecedented level of luxury, power, and versatility, the Escalade doesn’t ask you to compromise a thing when you’re behind the wheel. The Escalade 20-year anniversary is a momentous occasion in automotive history, marking the long-term success of one of America’s most iconic vehicles.
According to Cadillac, the Escalade achieved many firsts for its segment. For instance, it was the first model with full LED headlamps, the first luxury SUV with Magnetic Ride Control, the first luxury SUV to offer a hybrid, and the first to have a front-center airbag among its competitors. Since it was first released, the Escalade has dominated its segment, leading in sales for 15 of its 20 years on the market.
“Over the past 20 years, the Escalade has prevailed not only as a highly regarded full-size luxury SUV, but also as a cultural icon that is synonymous with style and sophistication,” said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president. “From the highway to the big screen, the Escalade has been embraced by drivers and fans around the world.”
The 2019 Escalade comes with 420 horsepower when equipped with a V8 engine, and it also has a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. You can easily seat up to eight passengers in the cabin, and innovations like an available Color Head-Up Display (HUD), an optional Rear Seat Entertainment System, and standard Automatic Parking Assist set this SUV apart from the competition.

Autumn is on the way, which means it’s time to prepare your car. Check out the following fall car maintenance tips.
Check tire air pressure and tread: As the weather changes, so will tire pressure. For every 10 degrees the temperature changes, air pressure can decrease one to two pounds. Check the tread to make sure the tire hasn’t worn.
Get a tune-up: Keeping cars properly tuned increases gas mileage.
Check the lights: There will be less sunlight as the year goes on, so make sure all your car lights are operating properly.
Check your battery: You’ll need a fully charged battery, especially as the temperatures dip.
Check all fluid levels: Make sure the power steering, transmission, and brake fluids are all at acceptable levels.
Check the air filter: Summer driving is great, but it means the air filter has accumulated dust and other debris. Make sure to change a dirty air filter.
Check the wiper blades: Make sure they’re not cracked or damaged, and if they are, get a new pair.
Examine the exhaust system: Check for any leaks that could pose a problem to the car’s operation.
Get ready for fall by scheduling a maintenance check at Wiesner of Huntsville.
There’s nothing in the world quite like a bonfire on a crisp summer evening where friends and family can share scary stories and indulge in roasted marshmallows. Check out these tips to help you host an awesome summer bonfire party.
Provide Bug Spray
Keep bugs at bay for you and your guests. A lot of guests may forget to bring their own insect repellant, so it’s a good idea to set out some communal bug spray and light a few citronella candles.
Cozy Blankets and Paper Lanterns
Provide blankets so your guests can ward off the evening chill, and set up strings of simple paper lanterns to provide some mood lighting. Having lights will also help people find their way around after it gets dark.
Hot Dogs, S’mores, and Popcorn, Oh My!
Marshmallows aren’t the only thing you can cook over a fire, even though s’mores are a fan-favorite that should definitely be included. You can also cook hot dogs over the open flame or even pop popcorn wrapped in tinfoil.
Refreshing (Kid-Friendly) Beverages
It’s important to stay hydrated! Coolers full of water bottles and pitchers of homemade lemonade are a welcome addition to any outdoor activity, especially in Texas.
We at Wiesner of Huntsville wish you and your family a happy, safe summer.

Cleaning a Cadillac isn’t like cleaning any old car. It deserves — rather, it requires — a whole lot of TLC. Take the time to make your Cadillac shine this season with these easy spring cleaning tips.
Use Detergent on the Pedals
All too often, the pedals are overlooked when detailing a car’s interior. Take a little soap and water to the pedals and get the grit out of the grooves — you’ll be surprised by the difference this makes!
Wash the Head and Taillights
Nothing makes a car look dingier than smoggy lights, and we here at Wiesner of Huntsville believe there should be no such thing as a dingy-looking Cadillac. Clean your lights with warm water and soap before your next joyride. We’re including this in our spring cleaning tips, but you should actually clean your lights at least every two months to make sure you’re as visible as possible while on the road.
Get Your Junk Out of the Trunk
Winter has a way of turning human beings into packrats, even here in warm Texas. Don’t burden your beloved Cadillac any longer — get all those odds-and-ends out of the trunk and back where they belong. Now that your load is lightened, this might even save you money at the pump in the long run.
Give these spring cleaning tips a try, and when the heads start turning as you drive down the street on a sunny afternoon, you’ll thank us!
