2014 Chevrolet Silverado Named Best Pickup by Consumer Reports

When it comes to testing products for consumers, practically no organization is more trusted than Consumer Reports. That is why it is so exciting that the magazine named the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado as the best full-size pickup. The Silverado took the top prize with a score of 81 points.

The Silverado impressed the judges with its high fuel economy, trailering capabilities, and convenience features, such as a low step-in height. Consumer Reports tested a four-door crew cab Silverado with four-wheel drive and a 6.2-liter V8 engine. This configuration delivers 16 mpg overall, which gives is a best-in-class rating 1 mpg better than the Ram 1500. This could ultimately save you at least 1 trip to the gas station per year, which is more money in your pocket.

Helping you get your work done is the Silverado’s class leading trailering capability of 11,500 pounds. The Silverado also has a large bed which can handle a 2,007-pound payload. You will also enjoy its easy-use tailgate with rear bumper steps.

General Motors: The King of Trucks

Everyone knows there are only a few big players in the pickup truck industry, and with numerous years worth of awards behind its belt, it’s undeniable that General Motors (GM) is the one and only, ultimate reigning, official King of Trucks.

Of course, we wouldn’t say this without showing a little more proof behind the name. Recently, GM has earned the crown for most horsepower in a mainstream pickup truck with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, making them the maker of the most powerful light-duty truck engines. This monster engine is available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra, both notable big-time players in the pickup industry. The engine pushes out an incredible 420 horsepower with 460 lb-ft. of torque, running right past big competitors like the Dodge Ram and Ford F-150.

If you’re in the market for one of these heavy-duty trucks, expect to go with trims including the LTZ or Denali, but rest assured that your towing capabilities will be out of this world. Get your hands on a bad boy with this engine, and you’ll be riding high with 12,000 pounds of towing capability behind you. Unbeatable.

Cadillac Elmiraj Concept is the New Definition of Luxury

Cadillac announced recently its step closer to a new luxury vehicle to be released—the Cadillac Elmiraj grand coupe. The concept was shown in Ann Arbor last month at a classic car event in California, and buzz tells us that the concept car exudes a “mid-century modern” feel that Cadillac hopes to roll out with its lineup.

The two-door, four-bucket-seat Cadillac Elmiraj grand coupe is Cadillac’s new vision of luxury, performance, and character, inspired by the 1967 Cadillac Eldorado. It features a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine with an amazing 500 horsepower and dramatic exterior design that showcases 22-inch aluminum wheels. This project is to signify the Cadillac brand as a luxury name with poise, and makes a very mature and grown-up statement for the brand.

There’s no doubt about it that the Elmiraj is all Cadillac. A sleek interior combined with a carefully-designed exterior makes for one unique and stylish luxury vehicle. Read more about the Elmiraj concept here, and let us know what you think!
