Remember when General Motors showed off a new concept set to challenge the Tesla Model 3 way back when at the 2015 North American International Auto Show? We do and so do many others. There may have been a bit of confusion about the name and making a rhyme anytime.
The Chevrolet Bolt, different from the already-in-production Volt, is commonly confused with the hybrid car. The rhyming names are often misheard for one another. For some, this isn’t good news. Not Chevrolet, though. General Motors is taking it in stride and looking positive.
“Some people think it’s confusing,” said Alan Batey, GM North America president. “People are having some fun with it. It is generating awareness, which is good. It’s so conversational.”
While the rhyme is good for marketing, the Bolt name isn’t final. General Motors reported at the Chicago Auto Show that they’re still in the decision phase. While a Chevrolet Bolt name change may be in the works, Batey doesn’t expect any confusion in the showroom. “The Volt and Bolt are different vehicles for people with different needs,” he said.
The current Chevrolet Bolt concept has the ability to travel 200 miles on a single charge. The Volt can travel up to 50 miles on a single charge before a gas engine kicks in for a range of about 1,000 miles on a full tank. General Motors plans to have the Bolt on roadways by 2017.
Three different Buick vehicles recently earned 5-Year Cost to Own awards from KBB.com. The awards mean that these vehicles will cost their owners the least amount of money over the first five years of their vehicle’s lives, and the Buick Enclave, Encore, and Verano all won their segments as 2015 models. The Enclave, specifically, won as the best Luxury Full-Size SUV/Crossover in its segment.
Customers must have been taking notice of the Buick brand’s excellence as well, though, since the Enclave just posted its second straight year of record sales. In 2014, they sold over 63,000 Enclave units, good for a 39 percent increase over 2013. “Few vehicles in any segment of the industry enjoy such a legacy of increasing popularly,” said Buick vice president Duncan Aldred. “In fact, many customers are enjoying their second or third Enclave. The Enclave has also been a cornerstone of Buick’s product renaissance.”
The Buick Enclave, as a 2015 model, starts at just over $39,000, gets up to 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, and comes in five different model trims as well. To learn more about the Enclave, what makes it the best vehicle in the full-size SUV segment, and why so many customers love it, come see us here at Wiesner of Huntsville today.

The all-new Chevy Trax was recently presented with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This is the highest rating given out by the government organization.
The 2015 Chevy Trax’s safety rating continues Chevy’s winning streak in terms of safety; Chevrolet has more 5-Star-rated vehicles for 2015 than any other automaker in the country. It is also reassuring to see another small SUV earn a top safety rating, as the market is expanding at an incredible rate. In fact, Chevrolet reports that the market for small SUVs like the Trax is expected to grow a whopping 80 percent over the course of the next few years.
Earning the top safety rating is no easy task. The Trax had to undergo front, side, and rollover testing in NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program. The SUV was also subjected to a side pole impact test, in which the Trax earned another 5 stars.
“The Trax is the perfect example of Chevrolet’s commitment to putting state-of-the-art technology and class-leading safety features where it matters most for the customer,” said Brian Sweeney, the U.S. vice president of Chevrolet.
Among those features and technologies are 10 standard airbags, a standard rearview camera, and available rear park assist. In addition, the Trax is composed of 66 percent high-strength and ultra-high strength steels.
