Chevy Announces New Unlimited OnStar 4G LTE Plan

In June of 2014, Chevrolet launched its built-in OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi technology. Since then, customers have been rapidly increasing their usage of the service. And, the biggest jump was in the last six months of 2016. In fact, in that time, Chevy owners used nearly as much data as they had in the previous two years.

Because of this huge jump in popularity and usage, Chevrolet has announced a new unlimited OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi plan. This plan will only cost $20 per month, making it an affordable choice for many families. There are also other plans for less frequent users, including data passes of 250MB per day for $5 and 20GB over 12 months for $150.

Alan Batey, president of GM North America and global head of Chevrolet, said, “With the most affordable unlimited 4G LTE data plan in the auto industry, the widest availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and new connected services like OnStar AtYourService, our momentum can only grow.”

If you’ve been searching for a better way to stay connected while on the go, come check out the Chevrolet lineup today at Wiesner of Huntsville. OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi is available across the Chevy lineup, from the compact Sonic to the full-size Silverado 2500HD.

First New Corvette Z06 Models on Their Way to Owners

new Corvette Z06

Corvette enthusiasts took notice when Chevrolet said the Z06 would be the most performance-ready Corvette of all time. That’s quite a claim, after all. It’s a claim that definitely motivated customers, though, and now the first new Corvette Z06 models are on their way to owners this very week. Soon, you’ll see these beautiful new ‘Vettes zooming past you on the highway—unless you are in one yourself.

“It has been an incredible opportunity to work on Chevy’s most capable model,” said Jeff Lamarche, plant manager of General Motors’ Bowling Green Assembly plant, “It truly is an amazing car, and we’re thrilled to get them into the hands of our eager customers.”

Keep Your Corvette Safe with Valet Mode

Keep Your Corvette Safe with Valet Mode

When you first purchase a car, especially a car as beautiful as the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette, it can be difficult not to worry about it when it’s out of sight. To help make new Corvette owners more comfortable with leaving their car in the hands of other people, Chevrolet is introducing the new Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder.

“Think of it as a baby monitor for your car,” said Harlan Charles, Corvette Product manager. “Anyone who has felt apprehension about handing over their keys will appreciate the peace of mind of knowing exactly what happened while their baby was out of sight.”

With this new system, which is industry-exclusive, drivers will be able to lock the interior storage, disable the infotainment system, and record video, audio, and vehicle data whenever Valet Mode is active. All you need is a unique four-digit code! The entry code simultaneously locks the storage bins, glove box, and disables the radio and infotainment system.

The Performance Data Record (PDR), which was created originally for use on the racetrack, uses a 720p, high definition camera, a dedicated microphone, a self-contained telemetry recorder, and an SD-car slot in the glove box to record. With this system, drivers can keep an eye on their baby, even if they’re not within sight.

All 2015 Corvette models will be available with Valet Mode. For more information on the release and specs of this superb sports car, stop in or contact Wiesner of Huntsville today!

Man Reunited with Stolen Corvette 33 Years Later

How long would it take before you gave up ever seeing your stolen car again, a month, a year? For one Detroit man, he may have believed he would never see his 1979 Chevrolet Corvette again, but George Talley got the surprise of his life when AAA called him telling him his car had been found.

Talley was reunited with his stolen Corvette 33 years after it was taken from Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. AAA told him the car had been found in good condition in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

“It was a lucky day to hear that my car had been found,” said Talley, in a statement. “They told me it was running, had 47,000 miles on it and was ready for me to pick up!”

The icing on the cake? Mark Reuss, executive vice president for GM Product Development, heard Talley’s story on the news and wanted to lend a hand. He called Talley and offered to ship the car home to Detroit and Talley was able to pick up his beloved Corvette at a nice ceremony at the GM Headquarters.

Corvette Z06 Features Chevy’s Most Powerful Engine

A few months back, the 2015 Corvette Z06 was revealed as the bowtie’s most track-capable Corvette ever. Much of that power comes from the muscle car’s all-new LT4 engine, a 6.2L V8, which easily eclipses the numbers of its predecessor, the LS7. The LT4, in fact, churns out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, incredible numbers for a production vehicle. It’s the most powerful engine ever put on the roads by Chevrolet.

“The LT4 Small Block sets a new benchmark for power and torque at GM,” said Steve Kiefer, vice president, GM Powertrain Engineering. “The engine also puts the new Corvette Z06 on par with the most powerful supercars offered in America, while delivering performance with impeccable manners that make it suitable for daily driving.”

The LT4 accomplishes all that with a remarkable sense of efficiency as well; it’s barely any larger than the Corvette Stingray’s LT1 engine, despite its much higher capability. The 650-Horsepower Z06, therefore, features one of the smallest and lightest engines in the exclusive supercar segment. Chevrolet Brings in Big Bucks at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction

Car enthusiasts everywhere know the importance of the vehicles at the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction. These cars are the sleekest, most stylish cars around and often are sold for big money to benefit various charities. That’s exactly what happened at the most recent auction, and four Chevy cars topped the news headlines.

A black and gold beauty, the Linda Vaughn LV-1 Camaro, brought in $280,000 at auction, all to benefit a non-profit organization, The Dreamakers, and the International Kids Alliance Network. Back in the 60s, Linda was Miss Hurst Golden Shifter and a racing spokeswoman. She teamed up with designers to create her own edition of the Camaro, and boy, is it sharp.

The very first 2014 Chevy Camaro COPO was also auctioned off, bringing in a killer $700,000! The COPO features an LS-based 2.9-liter V8 engine backed by a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the COPO will benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.

Finally, one of the rarest Chevrolet vehicles out there, the 1967 Chevy Corvette L88, was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson for an amazing $3.85 million, shocking and awing enthusiasts everywhere! Only twenty of these were produced, people. The classic red color combination of this particular car is thought to only exist on this car—only adding to its desirability.

There’s no doubt that Chevy takes the cake when it comes to cool, sporty cars.
