Kelley Blue Book (KBB) is one of the most well-respected names in the automotive industry. It is one of consumers’ most relied on sources when it comes to making a decision during the buying process. Every year, KBB does a Brand Image study utilizing information from over 12,000 vehicle shoppers. This deals with their perceptions of auto brands and factors that go into choosing which nameplate to purchase. The winner of their “Most Refined Brand Award” for the fourth consecutive year in a row is GMC.
KBB’s executive editorial director Jack Nerad commented on the decision, stating the decision behind the blue book’s choice factored in GMC’s “Professional Grade” ideology.
“The extra attention to design and detail found across GMC’s lineup has clearly resonated with American consumers,” said Nerad.
In the past, KBB has cited GMC’s premium Denali trim as part of their reasoning behind choosing the brand as the recipient of the award. The luxurious trim level accounts for over 25 percent of GMC’s vehicle sales. The brand sold its one millionth Denali trim at the beginning of 2017, starting the year off on a successful note.

2017 Chevrolet Impala
This sedan combines a sleek exterior with intelligent design on the inside and under the hood. A roomy cabin is home to a long list of advanced technology features. You and your passengers will stay entertained with the Chevrolet Impala’s available smartphone integration that uses Chevy MyLink, available Wi-Fi and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to keep you connected. Two engine options are available, and the 2017 Chevrolet Impala reaches a maximum 305 horsepower.
2017 Buick Verano
Like the Impala, the luxurious Buick Verano is a five-seat sedan that allows you and your family or friends to travel in class. The interior is made of the finest materials and can be taken to the next level with available upgrades like leather seats.
2017 Yukon Denali
Where full-size SUVs are concerned, the Yukon Denali may be the most luxurious on the market. Its three rows of first-class seating are graced with elegant extras like heated second row seats, wood inlays and French Seam stitching. Yet, the 2017 Yukon Denali can still tow a maximum of 8,400 pounds meaning this SUV offers the best of both worlds.
2016 Cadillac SRX
The 2016 Cadillac SRX is our choice for a luxury crossover, offering exceptional quality in handling and comfort. Though discontinued as of this year, the SRX is still a great way to go if you want a crossover that can keep you comfortable and entertained with up-to-date technology like available Wi-Fi and modern safety features.
As the weather heats up, the wear and tear on your car can get worse. Here are a few ways you can protect your car in hot weather:
- Use a windshield sun shade – These protect your interior from baking in the heat and keeps your car cooler when you get back inside after a hot day.
- Use protective sprays – There are products available that can provide another protective layer, like vinyl or leather protectants.
- Consider tinted windows – You’ll need to review your state’s regulations on the amount you can tint a window, but these can keep your upholstery from cracking.
- Park in the shade – This is obvious, but when you can, park in the shade. Look for streets where the shade created by buildings will pass over your car during the hottest part of the day.
- Check the car’s battery – When it gets hot, excessive fluid evaporation reduces the life of the battery. Make sure it’s functioning in top shape.
- Travel when it’s cooler – If you can, try to drive during the cooler parts of the day, like early morning or late evening. It will be easier on you, your passengers, and your car.
General Motors brought the mid-size GMC Canyon pickup back to the lineup for the 2015 model year, and now they’re looking to capitalize on the market. For the 2016 model year, the GMC Canyon’s mileage will top the segment. The truck is available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive versions.
The 2016 GMC Canyon will receive the addition of a diesel engine that earns an EPA-estimated 22 city/31 hwy mpg for two-wheel drive and 20 city/29 hwy mpg for four-wheel drive.
Approved by the EPA with a “certificate of conformity,” the mid-size pickup’s diesel engine puts the 2016 Ram 1500 3-liter EcoDiesel V6, capable of 29 hwy mpg, in second place.
The Duramax 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine pumps out a massive 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a 21-gallon tank, the truck offers a highway range of 651 miles between fill-ups in two-wheel drive versions. The diesel engine is available on the SLE and SLT crew cab models.
There’s no word on when the latest Canyons will roll into dealerships, but orders have been open for a few weeks now. So far, the 2015 Canyon has sold nearly 25,000 units.
We here at Wiesner of Huntsville are proud to see the latest GMC Canyon combining capability and reliability with fuel economy!
For many, many reasons, people are not supposed to use cell phones while driving, as we all know very well. However, we also know that we still need to be connected to our phones while we drive. Fortunately, technologies like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are making that a safe and accessible reality now by allowing you to synchronize your phone with the car’s infotainment system.
These new technologies will be available on select 2016 GMC models, especially the Canyon, Yukon, and Sierra. “GMC IntelliLink is taking another step forward with this simple and intuitive functionality that makes phones and vehicles work better together,” Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing, said. “Like other GMC features, from OnStar 4G LTE connectivity and active safety features, it’s technology designed to enhance the driving experience without intruding on it.”
CarPlay will be available on those select vehicles right from the beginning of the 2016 model year, followed by Android Auto capability later in the 2016 model run. Come see us here at Wiesner of Huntsville to learn more about these technologies, our great vehicles, and all the apps CarPlay and Android Auto support!
Each year, WardsAuto puts together their list of the best car interiors, highlighting which new vehicles best blend comfort, function, and style on the inside. This year, the 2015 GMC Canyon was chosen as one of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors.
It’s no surprise to us that the 2015 Canyon would be placed on this coveted list. The vehicle is frequently considered to be one of the most luxurious in its class, while maintaining the affordability of a non-official “luxury” car.
This balance of price and quality is part of what put the 2015 Canyon on the list, according to the website’s editor-in-chief, who points out that “shoppers need not buy a loaded full-size pickup” to get everything the 2015 Canyon has to offer.
If you haven’t had the chance to snuggle yourself into a 2015 Canyon yet, we recommend you check it out here at Wiesner of Huntsville. Let us know your thoughts on the 2015 GMC Canyon interior in the comments.
General Motors has announced the 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition pricing and it’s sure to show you that elevated standards don’t have to come at a higher price. The special edition model will begin pricing at $34,865 for a two-wheel drive model equipped with a standard 4.3-liter V6, while the four-wheel drive model with a 4.3-liter engine goes for $38,795. These prices help the Sierra Elevation Edition offer a unique style and the latest connectivity technologies.
“The Sierra Elevation Edition is all about expressive style and technology,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “Its customized appearance makes it a standout for style-conscious customers, while its technologies help keep them plugged into their connected lifestyles.”
The Elevation Edition model is offered in four exterior colors, 20-inch black-painted wheels, and projector-beam headlamps. Connective technologies include OnStar 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, GMC IntelliLink with color display, and Bluetooth wireless technology for select phones.

You might not have thought that the GMC Sierra, one of the most popular and capable full-size pickups on the market, could even get any better. But the folks at GMC, as usual, have proved that idea wrong with the all-new 2015 Sierra Carbon Editions. These new trucks, the standard Carbon, Carbon 20, and Carbon 22, all add much more style and sex appeal to an already robust and powerful truck.
“The beauty of the new Sierra lies in its strength and sophistication,” said Stuart Pierce, Sierra marketing manager. “But for customers wanting to stand out and make a strong statement, the Sierra Carbon Edition models are the answer.”
Each version of the 2015 Sierra Carbon Edition comes with its very own charms and bells and whistles, but they all feature some of the same things—such as a black painted grille, many other exterior body accents, and a uber-cool cargo lighting box. To see these cool trucks for yourself, come visit us here at Wiesner of Huntsville!
Pickup trucks aren’t known for their exceptional fuel economy, and pickup truck owners are not known for their interest in mileage figures… but is that a misconception?
At Wiesner of Huntsville, we’ve found that just because a customer wants a brawny vehicle that can haul all their gear doesn’t mean they care any less about efficiency. And that’s one area where the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon both excel.
Both are midsize trucks. They might not get super-duty jobs done quite all that well, but they’ll do everything else without breaking a sweat while offering highway fuel economy up to 5 mpg better than competitors.
This is possible thanks to the 3.6-liter V6 engine that both share, which uses direct fuel injection and continuously variable valve timing to produce 305 horsepower while returning 18 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.
“Colorado offers some of the best EPA fuel economy estimates of any pickup in a fun-to-drive, easy-to-own package,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “Colorado proves you don’t have to buy a lot of expensive technology to save money at the pump.”
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given the 2015 GMC Terrain a four-star overall safety rating. The rating comes from the Terrain earning four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.
The Terrain comes with standard safety equipment like six airbags, antilock brakes, electronic stability control, traction control and rearview camera. Some options include forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, side blind-zone alert and rear cross traffic alert.
All of these safety features combine to make the 2015 GMC Terrain one of the safest SUVs on the road. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given I high remarks, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded last year’s model an overall “good” rating. We expect the 2015 model to earn a similar rating.
If you want to check out how the 2015 GMC Terrain can keep you and your family safe, come to Wiesner of Huntsville and see all the Terrain has to offer.
