The holidays are upon us and the best way to spend them is with friends and family. Here at Wiesner of Huntsville, we love heading out on the town to attend the local festivities. Here are a few holiday events in Huntsville that are sure to get you into the spirit of the season.
Gingerbread Decoration Contest and Awards Reception
Get out your frosting, candy canes, and gumdrops for this festive occasion at the Wynne Home Arts Center. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28th, you can stop by the center to create your gingerbread masterpiece. The awards reception is the following Friday (Nov. 30) from 6 to 8 p.m. Along with the awards being announced, there will also be a kids activity station for creating paper snowflakes.
Huntsville Christmas Fair
Mark your calendar for December 1st for the 7th annual Downtown Christmas Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fair will feature a train ride, real snow, a variety of vendors, and photo ops with Santa Claus. To give you an idea of what to expect, last year’s event included bounce houses, Christmas Karaoke, cookie decorating, face painting, henna tattoos, and much more. There is no cost to enter the fair, but some of the events may require a small fee.
A Christmas Carol
To celebrate the 175-year anniversary of the Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol,” the Old Town Theatre is producing an original play based on the novel. Tickets for the family-friendly play can be purchased online or at the theatre’s box office, starting at $12 for children under age 12 and $20 for adults. (Additional discounts available.) Showtimes for the production are Dec. 7-8 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.
Whether you’re volunteering at a local food pantry or attending a heartwarming play, we at Wiesner of Huntsville hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
